NaPoWriMo Day 5 – A cinquain

Sorry I didn’t post last night, I was at a magazine launch with fellow NaPoWriMo-er Anna Percy, and it was super trendy and there was free whisky and I think that fully explains how comes I didn’t post. But here’s the poem, it’s a cinquain as prompted by the website. The first line has to have one stressed syllable, the second two, then three, then four, then back to one again. Also, the number of actual syllables has to go 2-4-6-8-2, so I thought i’d write one. It’s very short, it’s called In Comes The Evening

Alone
Way past midnight
Deep in the grip of fear
The loneliness is far too much
To bear.
